Can Pest Control Air Guns Help You?
![]() |
If you've got a problem with outdoor pests, you may have tried everything to get rid of them. Well, here's something you may not have tried -- pest control air guns. This method of pest control is perfect for the marksman who is sick and tired of outdoor pests. It works for squirrels, rabbits, rodents, birds and burrowing animals like moles. While you cannot go out in your yard and fire an actual gun, you can go out in your yard and fire an air gun. Air guns shoot pellets and are actually quite powerful. The shot from an air gun will stun, wound or sometimes even kill an outdoor pest.
Believe it or not, there is more to air gun pest control than just shooting at pests. Many pest hunters use decoys and lures to assist them. For birds, one of the most useful things is the face cover. Covering your face with a bandana will stop the reflection which scares birds away. Your face is highly reflective, and birds can easily spot highly reflective surfaces. A scrim scarf is the perfect way to not only cover your face when hunting pests but also keep pesky mosquitos from biting you.
You may want to lure the pests out into the open with food. Rats and squirrels are two examples of pests who respond well to food lures. Nuts are ideal for squirrels, while rats will eat most anything. For example, at my local park there is a bit of a problem with rats. They are eating the fish and duck food that is being dropped on the ground. Rats will eat most anything, so experiment with the food lures that they like best.
The air gun is different from the airsoft gun. Airsoft guns are often used in competition and are similar to paintball guns. The air gun, on the other hand, is much more powerful. Getting shot with an air gun may cause serious injury, so always take safety precautions when using this type of weapon. This means keeping the safety on when the gun is not in use, never keeping it loaded when it is put away and always making sure there are no people or pets in your line of fire. Pest control air guns can be purchased most anywhere firearms and/or airsoft guns are sold.
